On Tuesday, August 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential structure fire on Helmsman Way in the Stonewater Creek development off Indian Mission Road.  The Milton (85) and Lewes (82) fire department responded to assist Indian River based upon the incident upgrade from automatic fire alarm to structure fire.  It was reported as all interior smoke detectors were going off.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial exterior assessment of the residential structure as well as an interior assessment.  Crews evaluated the entire residential structure including attic and crawl space areas with issues identified.

All units were permitted to return to their respective quarters and the homeowner was apprised of the situation with a recommendation to have their alarm company perform and evaluation as well.
