Nature: Duty Crew – Station #1
Location: Long Neck
On Friday evening, August 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company coordinated a duty crew with specific assignments to be performed at Station #1 in Oak Orchard.
A contingency of volunteers completed assignments that were associated with cleaning and prepping our Station #1 apparatus for emergency response, cleaning and prepping our dining hall for the upcoming buffet breakfast, cleaning the front exterior of the building and engine bays, and other tasks as assigned. The duty crew was scheduled from 5 p. to 11 p.
During this duty crew event, an interested 3 year old wanted to stop and visit as well as see the fire truck. An opportunity was taken to provide a fire house and apparatus tour as well as providing him with a number of fire prevention resources.
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company acknowledges and thanks the volunteers that assisted with the clean-up efforts. There were no emergency incident alerts during these duty crew activities.
Illustrated herewith are some photographs of the activities.
