On Saturday afternoon, August 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm sounding incident at AMVETS Post #2 on Long Neck Road..  It was reported to be a commercial structure with an automatic alarm sounding.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area and Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation before placing the incident under control.

After speaking with the commercial occupants there was no known reason for the activation and the alarm was silenced with proper passcode prior to arrival of emergency apparatus.   All remaining responding apparatus was cancelled with all units returning to their respective quarters.
