Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 26396 Bay Farm Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, July 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident in the vicinity of Bay Farm Road and John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision at the rear entrance to the shopping center on Bay Farm Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a blue Chevrolet Equinox and a black Honda Pilot collided near the intersection causing damage to both vehicles and rendering them inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with closure of Bay Farm Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
