On Sunday, July 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded and/or participated at multiple activities throughout the day.  Identified herewith is an incident synopsis of the day’s responses:

•            07:21 - Nature: Medical Emergency - Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp

This incident was for a landing zone assignment based upon a medical emergency at the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp.  The emergency response units included Rescue 80 and the Delaware State Fire Police.  All fire company response units were cancelled while responding based upon the unavailability of the aviation unit.  Assistance was offered to the EMS personnel on location at Massey's Landing

•            10:35 - Nature: Alarms - Residential (Single) - General/Fire - Spoonbill Ct Peninsula Lakes

This incident was an automatic fire alarm within a residential structure.  Units responding to the incident location included Tower 80 and Tanker 80.  An initial exterior evaluation of the structure was completed with an interior evaluation commencing.  Units were able to identify a faulty alarm system.  The residents were notified that a certified maintenance contractor may be needed.

Tanker 80 was redirected to a second alarm within the district. 

•            10:43 - Nature: Alarms - Residential (Single) - General/Fire - Rivers Edge Rd Stonewater Creek

This incident was an automatic alarm within a residential structure with fire and carbon monoxide alarms activated.  Units responding to the incident location included Tanker 80 that was redirected from an earlier alarm and Tower 80 upon clearing the previous incident.  An initial exterior evaluation of the structure was completed with an interior evaluation commencing.  Units were able to identify a faulty alarm system. 

Tower 80 responded upon clearly from the previous alarm and was cancelled while responding.

•            12:47 - Nature: Alarms - Commercial Structure - Am Vets Post 2

This incident was a general automatic fire alarm sounding within the commercial structure.  Units responding to the incident included Chief 80, Tanker 80, and Tower 80 as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  An initial exterior evaluation was coordinated with an interior evaluation commencing.  Units were able to determine a false activation after discussion with the employees of the commercial business.  All units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
