Nature: Medical Emergency – Baywood - Landing Zone Assignment – Station #2

On Sunday, July 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical emergency which necessitated the utilization of the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2 for transporting patients to medical facilities.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker 80-4 from the Long Neck facility were needed as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control during the landing and departure activities of the aviation unit as well as assisting with patient transfer from ambulant to aviation unit.
