Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

On Thursday, July 4^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident with medics off Pot Nets Road near the entrance to Pot Nets Bayside.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported that a 14-year old fell off a golf cart and was injured.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 and Duty Officer 80 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization where needed, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a golf cart was attempting to access a wooden bridge area in the Pot Nets Bayside development ejecting one of its occupants causing injury.  All aviation units were unavailable based upon other emergency incidents in the area.  The injured occupant was packaged for transport and transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of Pot Nets Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
