Nature: Brush Fire

On Tuesday afternoon, June 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire on the rocks of the Massey’s Ditch.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush 80-0 and Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression activities and area saturation to fully suppress the fire spread. 

It appears that the nearby residents had a private fire pit near the ditch banks that spread into the rip rap rocks.  The entire area was saturated to prevent the fire spread.
