Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Bay Farm Rd and John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, June 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway and Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle accident and unknown on patients and injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as emergency medical service units from the Millsboro and Lewes fire departments and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, as well as overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a maroon Buick Lacrosse and a black Mazda collided at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Bay Farm Road.  Both vehicles sustained damage to render them inoperable.  One patient was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
