Nature: Multi Residential Fire

Location: 17241 Queen Anne Way, The Reserves Of Nassau, DE 19958

 

On Sunday afternoon, June 9th, the Indian River (80), Milton (85), and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies were alerted to assist Lewes (82) Fire Department with a multi-residential structure fire on Queen Anne Way in the Reserves of Nassau of Nassau Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments were to stage apparatus and report to the manpower pool for specific assignments.  Additional mutual aid companies were requested to back fill stations where apparatus and firefighters were committed for this incident location.

Initial arriving emergency response units identified the following conditions:

  • Available hydrant located in front of the residential structure

  • Two story multi residential structure with smoke from the garage

    • Duplex with a working garage fire

Additional information regarding the incident may be forthcoming from the Lewes Fire Department.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the complete roadway closure of Nassau Road between Coastal Highway and New Road.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
