Nature:  Vehicle Accident Incident Alert Synopsis of June 6, 2024

On Friday, June 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for vehicle accident incidents during the day.  These alerts tallied two (2) for the day.

 Illustrated herewith is a synopsis of those incident alerts:

• @ 22:20 - Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Friendship Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80, Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.  The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident with traffic patterns temporarily altered or stopped completely.

This incident was a rear end type collision with airbags deployed.

After the Incident Command Officer arrived and assessed the situation all emergency response units from Indian River were cancelled. 

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

• @ 23:39 - Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Pot Nets Rd and Half Shell Pond Rd Pots Nets Bayside, DE 19966

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80, Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 and the Delaware State Fire Police.

This incident involved a person falling off a golf cart with a possible head injury pursuant to the information provided to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center.

After the Incident Command Officer arrived and assessed the situation all emergency response units from Indian River were cancelled.
