On Friday afternoon, June 7th, the Indian River (80), Milton (85) and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies were alerted to assist the Lewes (82) Fire Department with a trailer fire on Pinewood Circle in the McNichol Place development off Clay Road in Lewes

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

While responding to the structure fire incident, the Lewes Fire Department was alerted for a gas leak in the Riding of Rehoboth Beach and Indian River units were redirected to the gas leak incident.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial evaluation of the residential structure, discussion with the structure occupants, evaluation and monitoring with gas detector(s), discontinuation of the LP gas to the structure and ventilation as well as notification of the utility service provider.

After ventilation and shutting off gas, the occupants were notified to have their utility service provider respond for mitigation and repairs.

All units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
