Nature:  Traffic Collision Incident Alert Synopsis of June 3, 2024

 

On Monday, June 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for multiple traffic collisions or vehicle accidents throughout the day.  These alerts tallied three (3) for the day.

 Illustrated herewith is a synopsis of those incident alerts:

• @ 08:10 - Nature: Automatic Crash Notification

Address: 27676 Sterling Blvd., The Peninsula, DE 19966

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.

This incident involved having a cellular phone activation which generated an emergency notification of the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center and no response from the telephone call back.

After emergency response units made face to face contact this incident was cancelled.

• @ 13:01 - Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Entrapment

Address: Harbeson Rd and Cool Spring Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  This alert was to assist the Milton (85) Fire Company with a vehicle accident on Harbeson Road at Cool Spring Road involving two vehicles and reported occupant entrapment.  

Additional emergency alerts included the Lewes (82) Fire Department, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the LifeNet2 Aviation Unit. 

As emergency first responders arrived at the incident location and performed an incident assessment some of the dispatched resources were cancelled.  This cancellation included units from Indian River and Lewes as well as the aviation unit.

It appears that a Dodge Pick Up and a Chevrolet collided near the intersection and the some of the occupants could not get out of the impacted vehicles.  Traffic along Harbeson Road was impacted for the duration of the incident.

• @ 13:38 - Nature: Traffic Collision w/Injuries

Address: 32008 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex (91) Rescue Squad

As emergency first responders arrived at the incident location and performed an incident assessment some of the dispatched resources were cancelled.  This cancellation included Rescue 80

It appears that this incident was a two-vehicle collision with extremely minor damage to the vehicles with one person desirous to be evaluated by EMS personnel.
