Nature: Alarm Sounding

Location: 22458 Reeve Rd Plover Point, DE 19966

On Sunday, June 2^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm sounding incident on Reeve Road in the Plover Point development off Oak Orchard Road.  It was reported to be a hallway smoke detector activation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard location and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial evaluation and discussion with the homeowners.

It appears that they were performing cleaning activities which activated the hallway smoke detector.  The homeowner expressed remorse for the oversight and acknowledged the first responders.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
