Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: 30914 Friendship Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, May 31st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard near 30914 Friendship Rd. It was reported to be an electric wire down with the grass on fire.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included notification of the utility service provider, securing a safe area, and fire suppression once the electrical service wires were de-energized.

It appears that a live primary electrical wire fell in the front yard of a residence causing the grass to ignite in the area.

The utility service provider restored the primary electrical wires and service in the area.
