Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: (ITAO) Long Neck Rd and Bayshore Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday evening, May 17^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Bayshore Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision with unknown number of patients and/or entrapment. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a Ford Explorer pick up and a Hyundai sedan collided on Long Neck Road.  Both vehicles sustained significant damage rendering them inoperable.  One occupant of the vehicle was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close Long Neck Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
