Nature: Fire Nature Unknown

Location: 27728 Sandy Dr Oak Orchard West, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, May 9^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fire nature unknown on Sandy Drive in the River Winds development of Oak Orchard Road.  The reporting person was unsure what was being burned.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crews identified an inappropriate control burn and apprised the property owner of the current burn ban and proper burning procedures.  The property occupants were required to extinquish the fire.

All other emergency response apparatus was cancelled while responding.
