Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Long Neck Rd and Blue Mist Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, May 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Blue Mist Drive.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a single vehicle accident hitting a tree with occupant unconscious and breathing.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control with complete closure of Long Neck Road, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery as well as overall incident mitigation. There was on person transported to nearby medical facilities.

It appears that grey KIA Forte was traveling on Long Neck Road and left the roadway striking a tree. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control measures for the complete closure of Long Neck Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
