Nature: Traffic Collision

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Beaver Dam Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Saturday afternoon, April 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident unknown on Indian Mission Road and Beaver Dam Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Incident Command 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included complete roadway closures, assistance with patient stabilization where needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, request for notification of electric utility service provider in the area, request for aviation unit and landing zone establishment as well as overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a black Mercedes Benz C300 and a blue Toyota Prius Hybrid collided near the intersection and striking some above ground utility service electrical panels.  One occupant suffered injuries which necessitated transportation to area trauma center for additional medical services.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
