Nature: Training Evolutions – Aerial Truck, Ladders & Ventilation Techniques

Location: John J. Williams Highway - Millsboro

On Thursday evening, April 25th, the Indian River and Millsboro volunteer fire companies conducted joint training evolutions on John J. Williams Highway to enhance firefighting techniques for aerial truck and ladder operations as well as ventilation tactics utilized for fire suppression operations.

An aerial ladder is the basic tool for rescue, ventilation, and extinguishment in the fire service. A ladder truck has he ability to perform all three basic functions at the basic level. These training evolutions targeted specific aerial truck operations utilized for fire suppression objectives as well as ventilation.  Another major component of this joint training effort to familiarize both companies with each other’s ladder truck.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hereby acknowledges and thanks the Millsboro Fire Company for hosting such an initiative.

Illustrated herewith are photographs that highlight the evening’s activities.
