Nature: Gas Leak

Location: 26071 Milby Circle, The Villas At Walden, DE 19951

On Wednesday afternoon, April 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak incident on Milby Circle in the Villas at Walden off Sloan Road in Harbeson.  It was reported as an odor of gas inside the residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  An engine from the Lewes (82) Fire Department assisted with the incident as well.

Emergency response crews initiated a water supply at the nearby hydrant, commenced with an incident size-up of the multi-residential structure performing an 360? degree exterior evaluation and coordinated an interior evaluation and identified the source of the concern, shut-off the gas services to the residential building and notified the appropriate utility service provider.

It appears that the residential townhouse complex did encounter a gas leak incident for which the utility service was disconnected pending arrival of the utility service contractor for repairs.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
