Nature: Fabrication Process for Indian River's new Pierce Saber Engine - Progress Report #4

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce the production status update for one of its new Pierce Saber 7000 fire engine to replace our aging fleet.  This unit will be a Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis and will replace Engine #80-3 - https://irvfc.com/apparatus/detail/4624

Atlantic Emergency Solutions recently published information that this replacement engine has commenced with some of the fabrication production process over the past week.

This replacement engine will feature the following options:

  • Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis

  • Cummins L9, 450 HP Engine

  • 3000 Series Allison Transmission

  • 1500 GPM Pump

  • 1000 Gallon Water Tank

  • Husky 3 Foam System

  • Firetech Scene Lighting

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will publish additional information as it becomes available.  It is possible that these truck updates will be posted weekly hereafter.

The main production report highlights for this stage of production are that all major Saber components have completed fabrication and welded, the water tank has arrived and staged to be mounted.
