Nature: Appliance Fire

Location: 27291 Lookout Rd., White House Beach, DE 19966

On Sunday afternoon, April 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an appliance fire on Lookout Road in the White House Beach development off Long Neck Road. It was reported to be a stove on fire.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Tanker 80, Rescue 80 and Command 80 from the Oak Orchard area and Engines #80-3 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were assigned to coordinate an initial on-scene size up provide conditions and location of utilities, perform an initial interior evaluation upon being notified that the fire has been suppressed with a fire extinguisher.  All responding units with the exception of Incident Command and Engine 80-3 were cancelled while enroute to the incident location.

It appears that an oven fire occurred at the residence on Lookout Road.  The occupants were able to suppress the fire prior to arrival of emergency response apparatus however they desired further evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
