Nature: Indian River Duty Crew Initiates Spring Preparations

Location: Indian River Fire District

Address:  25375 Banks Road, Millsboro, DE  19966

 

On Friday, April 5th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company commenced with a predefined duty crew from 5:30 p thru 10:30 p to coordinate some basic apparatus cleaning and spring preparation measures around the Long Neck fire station.

The duty crew’s purpose is to provide an immediate response for any fire, rescue, and/or EMS emergencies within the specific fire district as well any request(s) to respond to a mutual aid incident.

This duty crew included volunteers of which was a qualified driver, a qualified officer, a qualified firefighter contingency, and a member of the crew currently certified in CPR / AED.  The duty crew assignments included a specific training component for duty the shift, apparatus and/or facility cleaning, and other duties as assignments.  This duty crew was able to fully staff apparatus as well as the incident command unit.

There were not any incident responses necessary for the evening.  Illustrated are a few photographs of this crew performing their work assignments.
