Nature: Citizen Assist

On Monday, March 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a citizen assist incident involving a child locked in a vehicle.  The vehicle was reported to be not running with a one-year old child inside.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were assigned to coordinate access to the vehicle with various lock-out tools which allowed for successful access to the child.

It appears that a green Kia was at the drive-thru spray carwash and inadvertently locked the vehicles inside the vehicle.  Upon access inside the vehicle the child was retrieved and provided to their respective parent.

All units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
