Nature: Vehicle Accident
Location:  John J. Williams Hwy @ Long Neck Road

On Saturday, February 24th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J  Williams Highway and Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle accident with minor injuries.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Incident Command and Engine 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments including vehicle stabilization, traffic control assistance, patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery and incident mitigation.

It appears that the vehicles collided at the intersection while one was attempting to make a left turn onto Long Neck Road. Both vehicles suffered damage rendering them inoperable and two patients were transported for additional evaluation at medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
