The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company in collaboration with the Indian Mission Church offers our Welcome Wednesday - Guest Speaker Event as a community outreach campaign to directly engage and inform our community on a variety of topics.

The inaugural guest speaker will be Rebecca N. Doyle, Esquire Rebecca N. Doyle, Esquire of Doyle Law, LLC to discuss estate planning and options available to make it easier and faster for loved ones to assist an individual upon incapacity or death, and the impact of failing to properly plan.

Rebecca will discuss what estate planning is and the purpose of a Durable Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive, Will and Trust.  She will also explain probate avoidance tools, including adding beneficiaries, transfer of death (TOD) and pay on death (POD) designations to financial accounts, and Revocable Trusts.

Rebecca will discuss the importance of not adding children to assets as a joint owner and what individuals should do instead. Finally, she will explain the impact to individuals who do not have their estate planning completed upon incapacity or death.
