On Friday morning, February 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential alarm sounding on Topline Way in the Baywoods development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior 360 evaluation to identify conditions and location of utilities as well as an interior evaluation to identify the source of the alarm sounding which was construction workers on scene sanding which set off the alarm systems.

After evaluation, the homeowner was advised procedures to inform his alarm company to silence and reset the alarm.  This residential location was placed on officer’s call.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control during the incident.
