Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector

Location: 34812 West Harbor Dr White House Beach, DE 19966

On Sunday afternoon, January 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide detector incident on West Harbor Drive in the White House Beach development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial 360 exterior evaluation with crews evaluating the interior of the structure with gas detectors, natural ventilation was already in process upon arrival of fire company personnel, there were not any meter readings and all conditions were favorable.  It was determined to be a faulty detector.

The residential structure was turned back over to the home occupants and no further services were needed.

All apparatus was permitted to return to their respective quarters.
