Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 32896 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, January 19^th the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Radie Key Land and Ridgewood Road.  It was reported to be a single vehicle into a utility pole with wires down.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, notified of the utility service provider, patient stabilization where needed, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a white Dodge pick up was traveling on Long Neck Road and struck a utility pole, snapping the pole and causing wires down.  All occupants of the vehicle refused any medical attention.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with restricted lane passage for the duration of the incident. 

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
