Dealing with the aftermath of Tuesday night's inclement weather…

Heavy winds and intense rain hit much of the area on Tuesday evening, January 8th into early Wednesday morning January 9th. The storm brought impacts ranging from flooding rains, damaging winds, coastal flooding, and beach erosion. Rainfall totals in the region generally ranged between 2-3” with some areas seeing higher totals. This heavy rain flooded farm fields and sent some rivers and streams out of their banks.  Some residents experienced power outages, in addition to flooding concerns.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company did an evaluation of the fire district and to identify area of concern and felt that much of the water was subsiding.
