City: Pines At Long Neck

On Sunday, January 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical emergency incident which required a landing zone assignment for the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included a landing zone establishment across the street of the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad on Indian Mission Road.  The aviation unit transported the patient to a medical facility in northern Delaware.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.
