Nature: Vehicle Accident – Fire Police Requested

Location: John J. Williams Highway between William Street Road and Maryland Camp Road

On Tuesday afternoon, January 2nd, the Delaware State Fire Police assigned to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded and assisted the Millsboro (83) Volunteer Fire Company with a traffic control assignment on John J. Williams Highway.

Three fire police units from the Long Neck cleared a previous accident on Bay Farm Road and fulfilled this assistance request.

It appears that a white Cadillac sideswiped a GMC SUV and then struck a Dodge pick up head-on while traveling on John J. Williams Highway.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic control assistance pending the arrival of DELDOT for the duration of the incident.  This segment of John J. Williams Highway was closed for an extended period of time.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
