Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 30012-30033 Hollymount Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Wednesday evening, November 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Hollymount Road near Harbeson.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision possibly head-on.  This was the second alarm within the Indian River Fire District.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.   Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedic and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, establish a landing zoning, and incident mitigation. The aviation unit did land for potential transport but chose ground transportation instead.

It appears that a Chrysler Sebring and Ford Edge collided on Hollymount Road causing front end damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  This segment of Hollymount Road was closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
