Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Bay Farm Rd and John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday evening, November 17^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at the Bay Farm Road intersection.  It was reported to be two vehicles with the possibility of three patients.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Millsboro EMS, and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery and incident mitigation.

It appears that a silver BMW sedan and a red Dodge pick up collided at the intersection causing extensive front end damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  Eastbound traffic was diverted along Bay Farm Road to School Lane.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
