On Saturday evening November 4th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a medical emergency and establish a landing zone for the incoming aviation unit – Delaware State Police Trooper 2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck Facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facilities as well as the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignment called for the landing zone to be established at Station #2 on Banks Road. 

The Sussex County Paramedics in coordination with the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad transported the patient from the incident location to landing zone location for the loading onto the aviation unit. The patient was transported to medical facilities to better accommodate their respective condition.
