Nature: Gas Leak

Location: 35466 Bayview Lane Rehoboth Shores, DE 19966

On Saturday morning, November 4th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm sounding incident on Bayview Lane in the Rehoboth Shores development. It was reported that the alarm continues to activate and the property owners were concerned because two residents felt dizziness and lite-headed.

Emergency response units from the Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included an interior and exterior residential of the structure with an effort to identify the rational for the alarm sounding, natural ventilation was coordinated prior to arrival of the fire company.  It was determined to be a faulty detector.  The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) did evaluate two persons.

All units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
