Nature: Medical Emergency

City: Woodlyn Estates, Long Neck

On Wednesday morning, November 1st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a medical emergency and establish a landing zone for the incoming aviation unit – Delaware State Police Trooper 2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck Facility as well as the Incident Command Chief’s Unit.

Emergency response crew assignment called for the landing zone to be established at or near the area of Woodlyn Estates and Peninsula Lakes off Bay Farm Road.

The Sussex County Paramedics in coordination with the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad transported the patient from the incident location to landing zone location for the loading onto the aviation unit. The patient was transported to nearby medical facilities in New Castle County to better accommodate their respective condition.
