Wednesday October, 25 2023 @ 21:25Nature: Vehicle Accident w/MedicsLocation: Lingo Lane and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966On Wednesday, October 25, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road and Lingo Lane. It was reported that a pedestrian was possible involved in a vehicle accident.Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-3 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2.Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control with the complete closure of Long Neck Road, landing zone preparations, and overall incident mitigation efforts.It appears that a black Chrysler 300 sedan and a white Ford Escape were involved in a vehicle accident. The Chrysler was struck in rear by the Ford Escape however, a pedestrian was also struck as part of this overall incident. One person was transported to nearby medical facilities via EMS ground units and another person was transported to Christiana Medical Center via the aviation unit.The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.The Delaware State Police are investigating.The Delaware Department of Transportation (DELDOT) assisted the Delaware State Police for the duration of the incident.Additional information may be obtained by viewing the following links:
