Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Silicato Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday, October 23^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road in the vicinity of Silicato Drive.  It was reported to be a property damage incident and then upgraded to a personal injury incident after two persons wanted to be checked out by EMS.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Deputy 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, patient stabilization, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a utility contractor towing a trailer and excavator was struck by a silver Chrysler Sebring convertible causing damage to both.  The convertible suffered driver side front end damage and the trailer suffered driver’s rear-end damage to the trailer and axle.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
