Nature: Gas Leak / Odor of Gas

On Thursday morning, October 19^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak / odor of gas investigation on Marina Bay Circle in the Peninsula.  It was reported that a property owner smelled an odor of gas outside.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included gas monitoring and detector readings, search and evaluation for potential sources via nearby residential locations and construction locations, street monitoring, etc.

Emergency response personnel could not identify the source of the reported smell, could not verify the existence of the smell and performed a vigorous evaluation before call the incident as unfounded.

All units were authorized to return to their respective quarters with no further concerns.
