Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: John P Healy Dr and Indian Mission Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Monday afternoon, October 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road at John P. Healy Drive.  It was reported to be possibility of a four vehicle collision with possibility one pediatric injury.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility.  Additional emergency response units included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Lewes EMS as well as the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery as well as traffic control.

It appears that a Mazda compact car struck the rear of a Lincoln MkZ while traveling on Indian Mission Road.  Two persons were transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
