Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 32034 Riverside Plaza Dr Riverside Plaza, DE 19966

On Wednesday morning, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway alongside the Riverside Apartments.  It was reported to be a rear end type collision with one person holding their neck.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignment included vehicle stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and incident mitigation.

It appears that a grey KIA Soul was struck from behind by a Mack tractor trailer causing damage.  It appears that one occupant was being evaluated for possible transport to nearby medical facilities.  All other responding apparatus were cancelled.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
