Nature: Fried Chicken Dinner – Pick up / Drive Thru

Location: Oak Orchard – Station #1

On Saturday, September 23th, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company in conjunction with Debbie Swithenbank, owner and operator of Holiday Chicken hosted a fried chicken pick up / drive thru event at our Station #1 facility.

The pick-up / drive thru event commenced at approximately 2:30 p.m. with a line forming at 1:30 p. We would like to thank each and every patron for their patience, polite and pleasant personality.  Thank you for your patronage.  The pick up phase of the event continues thru 4:00 p.m.

This was our second attempt at offering the Fried Chicken dinner and we made some adjustments including ordering additional fryers that have not been installed and based upon the line of potential customers around the facility was every indication of the community demand for these chicken entrees continues to be overwhelming.

 The fried chicken dinner included mashed potatoes, coleslaw, beets, green beans, bread and butter and dessert.  The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will continue to enhance and adjust these dinner events to best accommodate the demand.  There were 154 carry out dinners prepared and delivered during this phase of the dinner function.
