Nature: Traffic Collision

Address: Indian Mission Rd and John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, September 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the Weis Market at Nanticoke Crossing Shopping Center. It was reported to be a two-vehicle accident with a possibility of one patient.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80-1 and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a Nissan NV Utility Van and a Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV collided at the entrance to Nanticoke Crossing on John J. Williams Highway causing damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.  All traffic patterns via John J. Williams Highway were altered for the duration of the clean up.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
