Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Entrapment

Location: Beaver Dam Rd and Hollymount Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Monday, September 4^th, the Indian Rive r(80) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Beaver Dam Road and Hollymount Road.  It was reported as a two-vehicle collision with one vehicle unable to open their doors.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Recue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery and incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a blue Honda Accord and a silver Honda CRV collided at the intersection with front end damage to the Accord and driver side damage to the CRV.  Both vehicles encountered significant damage and there was not occupant entrapment upon arrival of initial first responders.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
