On Friday evening, September 1^st, the Indian River (80), Dagsboro (73), Delmar (74), Frankford (76), Georgetown (77), Laurel (81), Millsboro (83), Selbyville (88), and Wicomico County mutual aid companies from Pittsville and Willards fire companies were alerted to assist Gumboro (79) fire company with a working structure on Fox Hound Lane off Lowes Crossing Road.  It was reported to be multi-purpose facility utilized for agricultural operations.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response from Indian River originally requested a cover up assignment for the Millsboro Fire Company and then upgraded to actual incident response.  Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility fulfilled these assignments.  Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility provided the additional standby cover up assignment for the Millsboro fire station. 

Emergency response crew assignments included participation in an extensive water shuttle operation from the fireground location to the Gumboro Fire Station facility with firefighting personnel to the manpower pool for respective assignments.  The fireground operations were extensive with mutual aerial operations, fire suppression tasks, escalator for demolition, extractions, and access requirements, and other duties as needed.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control as needed at the intersection of Fox Hound Lane and Lowes Crossing Road.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
