Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 26373 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, August 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway between Seymour Acres Lane and Legion Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, assistance with patient stabilization, traffic control, and incident mitigation efforts. 

It appears that a blue Ford Taurus sedan ran into the back of a Ford Utility Body truck rendering the Taurus inoperable.  One person was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
