Nature: Vehicle Accident

John J Williams Hwy and Timber Acres Circle Timber Acres, DE 19966

On Friday afternoon, July 28^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Timber Acres Circle for multiple vehicle chain reaction type collision. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, and two additional EMS units from the Millsboro (83) Fire Company.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control with the closure of the westbound traffic lanes of John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a maroon Chevrolet Equinox struck the rear of a blue Chevrolet SUV type vehicle which hit a maroon Toyota RAV4 which then hit a Hyundai Ioniq5 causing front and rear damage to the middle vehicles.  Three occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
