Nature: Gas Leak

Location: 23837 Quiet Waters Av., The Peninsula, DE 19966

On Thursday morning, July 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak on Quiet Waters Avenue in the Peninsula development off Bay Farm Road.  It was reported that a construction contractor cut a gas pipe at the incident location.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engines #80-3 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation, evaluation, and verification that the gas lines were shut off.

It appears that a contractor cut a gas pipe at the residential location and was able to locate the shut off prior to arrival of emergency response units.

All emergency response units were able to return to their respective quarters.
